In 1945 James married Betty Payne - their children Patricia born 1947; Bill born 1950 and Lynne born in 1956. James went in to camp 1942 with the Army 9 R.M.T. transport. In 1943 transferred into the Air Force. Trained in Tiger Moths at Tairen and air speed Oxfords at Wigram - awarded his wings 1944. Served as a Pilot 40 Squadron in Pacific Area with transport.
